"Monthly Competitions"

Each year there are four competition evenings for which members can submit PRINTS (Monochrome or Colour), and PROJECTED IMAGES (Slides and Digital have now been combined into one section) - which are placed before an invited judge at a Tuesday evening meeting - who will give a critique on all the entries and place the top ten in order of preference with points being awarded to aggregate over 4 competitions throughout the year for the trophies.

"Bill Dunn - Memorial Trophy"

All fully paid up members of the Society are eligible to enter this stand alone annual competition. Each entrant may submit a maximum of two prints, two slides and/or two digital images. These must be current work which has not been used previously in this competition and can be of any subject.

The theme of the competition is “Creative Photography” – This can be viewed as being the same as Pictorial photography and does not necessarily mean manipulated images although straight record are not suitable

"Annual Exhibition"

Each year the Society holds its Annual Exhibition in the City Museum and Art Gallery, for a period of one month.

The exhibition consists of mounted prints and projected images – the latter being either slide or digital. A number of competitions are integral to the exhibition and trophies and awards apply to each category. The categories are:

Natural History

Record
